All right, folks, time for some fun. This time, let me just begin by saying…. I have no idea how to complete the operation referred to here. Yeah. I’m an English teacher. I could probably (re)learn math, but. . . . I’d rather watch the video.
(YouTube I Will Derive!)
Now, if you’re looking for something serious to read while you play all these vids in another window/tab, here’s a fascinating article (HT: PowerLine) about Peter Seeger, “America’s Most Successful Communist.” It is long, but first-rate. Really worth the read.
But along with that, I really have to recommend that you indulge some subversion of a more modest sort–an end-of-semester, out-of-school special. Keep clicking the “related” links, and enjoy such marvels as “Can’t Graph This” the Calculus supersmash hit “My Humps.” (a funny G-rated version of an impossibly irritating song.)
mmmm…. Calculus. Tasty good stuff!
And then they wonder why they get beat up on the playground?
This was pretty clever, btw. I dug the disco on the graphing calculator. . .
Hey, now. Some of us math nerds can be pretty vicious.
Totally. Case in point:
Three statisticians go hunting. When they see a rabbit, the first one shoots, missing it on the left. The second one shoots and misses it on the right.
The third one shouts: “We’ve hit it!”
(from the great grandaddy of math joke lists)
