James Lileks on Unfortunate Comic Books + Sunday Hotlinks!

Flash Wonder Woman Green Lantern James Lileks Comic Books

Aside from the dour Chris Hitchens, James Lileks wields the most wicked pen in America. Check out his gallery of really, really unfortunate comics from the 60s and 70s. Here’s his commentary on the Comic Cavalcade panel posted above:

“Ha ha! Let’s go steal presents from poor kids! That’s what he gets for leaving his window – his enormous tenement window – open all night. Wonder Woman looks like she’s really enjoying this, but she always looks like that. The Flash, as usual, has the simple idiot cheer of the guy they hired to help the school janitor.”
