Anyone who watched cartoons in the 80s will be amused by the parody video linked up by Hot Air today. Playing off of the creepy, cultic “Yes We Can!” Obama video, “Yes We Shall” examines Cobra Commander’s similar cult of personality. Good times.

What I like about this spoof is how it illustrates much images and music can be used to manipulate people, how medium triumphs over message (to borrow a phrase.)
oh, my. the awesome awesomeness of that, is just too . . . awesome. I’m overcome. AWESOME!!!
eh, I kinda liked it.
So, yes, it was fun seeing the abstract gloss on the concrete absurdities played out with the likes of the Weather Dominator and unstable nuclear devices. Oh, the joy of “There’s never been anything artificial about earthquakes”!
Oh, if you for some strange reason want to try watching these episodes, you could give Joost a shot (requires client software!) or flip through the few up at Hasbro.

Thanks for the heads up on Joost. I just downloaded it. I’m introducing the boys to good, manly 1980s cartoons.
