The current spate of turkeys Hollywood is turning out should finally put an end to the old argument — “the media is just there to make money.”
1. If it was about the money, at least one of the Big Three networks would be trying to appeal to the plurality of conservatives in this country.
2. If it was just about the money, Hollywood would make more G- and PG-rated films and less R-rated ones.
3. If it was just about the money, the massive success and profitability of Passion of the Christ would have spawned a host of religion-themed movies.
4. But most of all, if it was just about the money, this flood of anti-war stinkbombs would have been killed two years ago.
UPDATE: Allah at Hot Air is reporting that yep, Stop-Loss is tanking too. Couldn’t happen to a nicer movie.

One comment for “Big Media: Is it really all about the money?”
Or perhaps there are just high barriers to entry in the business of network news and feature films, which allows idiots to keep their jobs even though they’re supposed to be making money and failing? Kinda like the airlines?
No, wait, we wouldn’t want to appeal to economic literacy or anything, this is a *conservative* blog My mistake. You’re right, it must be a conspiracy.
